About the Founder

Christina Goding was raised in a small town in the state of Vermont, USA. She was raised in a Christian home and was home schooled as an alternative to attending the public school system. As the eldest of seven children, she was often quite busy with various tasks ranging from housework to babysitting. In the midst of all that, one thing proved to be an area of extraordinary talent as well as a safe haven for her. That area was music. At the very young age of 18 months old, Christina was often found banging away at the piano, and even was able to play "Jesus Loves Me" with one finger. At just 5 years old, she began taking piano lessons, which she continued receiving until the age of 12. During the lesson years, she participated in various recitals, as well as a competition for the state of New Hampshire at age 10, which she easily won. She also played for many hymn sings, conferences, and family gatherings. Many people marveled at her talent of playing by ear and speedy sight reading.

During her teen years, Christina took lessons here and there, but never seemed to find a teacher that fit her abilities and passion. Thus she began to form her own style of practicing and playing music. At 21 years old, she was happily settled into a life of playing for pleasure when she was introduced as the new keyboardist and vocalist for her church's worship team. Christina has since then enjoyed serving on the worship team and continues to do so on a weekly basis.

When Christina was 6 years old, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She has always had a desire to help people. As a young girl, she constantly talked about opening a Christian horse camp for underprivileged folks who wanted to be around horses. She also had a vision of walking down the streets of the worst cities in America and handing out food and clothes to families in need. Another thing she always wanted to do was to take in homeless women, give them makeovers, nurture them, and help them get back on their feet. As a teen, she volunteered at a Christian special needs camp two years in a row. The camp was a week long and had roughly 40-50 campers with special needs ranging from minor to severe in intensity. She was empowered and inspired by helping out at this camp, and she will never forget just how special the weeks of those years were. Christina also volunteered at nursing homes throughout the years, playing the piano and singing for the elderly, as well as helping out in other areas.

In 2006, Christina met and fell in love with the man she now knows as her husband, Ken. Ken owns a computer store in downtown Springfield, VT and he maintains an excellent reputation as an honest, kind, and reasonably priced computer guy. Not only that, but he is extremely talented and definitely knows his stuff when it comes to computers. He is also a talented musician and leads their church in worship on a weekly basis through playing acoustic guitar and singing. Though he is quiet about his abilities, he enjoys serving on the worship team along with the other members of the team. Through Ken's incredible support, Christina has been able to accomplish more than she ever thought possible. He has been very supportive of every one of her whims and has encouraged her and helped her to pursue her various hobbies, such as photography and music. In this new pursuit of starting Once Broken Ministries, he has been more supportive than ever and there is absolutely no doubt that this couldn't be possible without him. In the meantime, Ken will happily stay settled working with computers and serving his home town and surrounding areas.

Today, Christina's passion for helping others is stronger than ever before. Founding Once Broken Ministries is just the start of her dreams turning into reality. Through Once Broken, she will be able to reach out and help more people than ever before. This is more than just a dream come true. This is part of her life calling. However, she couldn't have started Once Broken without significant help and support from her husband, her friends and her family.  Her husband purchased the equipment necessary to start recording, as well as the website and other things necessary to get this up and running. The logo for Once Broken was drawn by Christina's mom, Bev, and was created for this ministry and given as a gift by a good friend, Melissa Prevost.
